Denver Weekend and Other Catch Up

I'm trying to catch up on our blog posts.
Over Columbus Day weekend we took a quick trip to Denver, where I grew up. April, one of my good friends, lives there. We wanted to see her new house and spend some time with her, so we took a weekend trip.
Getting to the plane was stressful (all you need to know is the stranger yelling, "Miss, miss, don't run in high heels with the baby" had a valid point), but once we got there it was a relaxing and fun weekend.
I love this picture of Annika on my lap on the plane.

Enjoying a diaper change at the Tattered Cover.
My sister Carly was randomly in town for a conference, so we crashed their party.
Annika enjoyed hanging out at April's house.
She was happy to try out a high chair for the first time.
And she loved brunching with her Auntie April.
On the way home she was entertained by her pops.
Annika also enjoyed reading with her dad. Both Dr. Seuss and the history of accounting are real page turners.
As long as we're playing catch up, here are a few pictures from her first plane trip to Utah in August.

Halloween

We were able to start our Halloween celebrations early thanks to some outfits from Granny J.
Annika worked on developing scary faces.
Annika spent the entire weekend as a banana. On Friday, she dressed up for the Halloween party at her daycare and then came to the Monster Mash party at my school.

All that partying wore her out.
On Saturday, we went to our local park, Ft. Greene Park, for their annual Halloween festival, which includes a hilarious dog costume contest. I can't wait to take Annika there next year, when she'll be able to participate in some of the games.

Brunching with pops.
Once again, it was hard work being a banana.
Our neighborhood goes all out for Halloween. Although Annika is too young for trick-or-treating, we took her out to see the sights.
She made a new friend.

One of the houses in our neighborhood puts on an elaborate production every year.
Annika enjoyed the show.
She loved seeing all the lights.
Just another banana in a supermarket.
Once again, a tired banana.
